The Rev. Timothy Lloyd serves as Redeemer’s Associate Pastor for Evangelism and Mission Development following his appointment in 2025.
Pastor Tim’s story begins in the farmlands of northeast Indiana. Baptized at age 7, Tim first sensed a call among his high school youth group. As a Bible and religion major at Huntington University, Tim became fascinated by Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation. It was no coincidence that as a sophomore he was recruited by a nearby Lutheran church as youth director, where he discovered his gifts for teaching and developed a deep love for historic, liturgical worship.
In 2005, Tim married Elisabeth, and two years later they moved to Atlanta where Tim studied at Emory’s Candler School of Theology. During seminary, he launched “Last Call,” an innovative worship experience for young adults—an early glimpse of his passion for creative evangelism.
After graduation, Tim was appointed by the United Methodist Church to plant Eastside Church in Atlanta. What started as a handful of people in his living room grew into a thriving congregation known for its commitment to social justice, radical inclusion, and innovative worship. Tim served with Eastside for twelve years.
The path to Redeemer began while Tim was mentoring students at Georgia Tech. Driving through Midtown week after week, he felt a gravitational pull toward the Midtown community. When he learned about Redeemer’s plans for the future, Tim could see how God was already at work preparing his heart for this new chapter of ministry in Midtown.
Tim and Elisabeth live in Atlanta with their three children—Ephrem, Rowan and Emme—and one ridiculously spoiled golden doodle named Juno.
