Redeemer Updates

What’s the latest from the Lutheran Community Food Ministry?

Summer of Socks

Thanks to your generosity, the LCFM has collected over 500 pairs of socks to distribute to our Midtown neighbors who dine at the food ministry.

It’s not too late to participate in the “Summer of Socks” because summer’s not over yet.  Donate new, men’s crew socks in black or white to the LCFM by having them shipped to Redeemer through the online retailer of your choice.  For your convenience, you can do it through the LCFM’s Amazon Wish List.

Let’s push the LCFM Socktometer over 1,000!

Additional Funding from Fulton County

As Pastor Mark shared in worship on Sunday, July 5th, Fulton County awarded Redeemer an additional $150,000 to support our work for the homeless and seniors who face food insecurity in Fulton. This special Covid-19 funding is primarily for food and must be spent by the end of 2020.

The LCFM Team & Staff are hard at work identifying ways we can maintain and improve our own weekday meal service and existing partnership with Lutheran Towers as well as forging new partnerships to meet the unique hunger challenges brought by Covid-19 and related job and housing loss.

16 weeks in “To Go” Mode

From March 13th through July 3rd, the LCFM has served 19,756 meals. This is only possible by the grace of God and our faithful weekly volunteers, our nimble LCFM staff, and the congregation and community’s enthusiastic support.
