But there is something else to the wisdom of Ecclesiastes.  Take a look at the lilies of the field or the intricate spiderweb on the back porch it suggests. 

There are many ways to pray: extemporaneously, formulaic, contemplatively, ceaselessly, movement, stillness, litanies, and more.

Rather than a "balanced" life, it might be more helpful to try and nurture a "centered" life.

I give thanks that I get to be part of a community that feels called to examine itself and actively engage in anti-racist training.
