Welcome to Redeemer!
Dear Friends:
Welcome to Redeemer! Our ministry is centered in Midtown Atlanta. Our mission is to grow disciples of Jesus Christ who, through active faith, share God’s love with the world. So, our ministry strives to meet people wherever they are in this spiritual journey we call life and equip one another with a real faith for our real lives.
We take seriously the promise of Jesus Christ that each one of us can bless our world through living our faith, sharing our gifts and welcoming others. Ours is a Spirit-led community that changes lives in Jesus’ name.
We hope you will take the time to navigate our website. As you do so, we pray that you will find in it the open door that is Redeemer. Should you visit us in Midtown, we know you will discover the love that is alive within us and through us. We invite you to “Come Share Life” at Redeemer.
Welcome from Pastor Tim

We are blessed by your visit here at our website and hope that you might here find not only information but an invitation to and a nurturing in faith as well. Perhaps your visit here will lead to our paths crossing in the flesh as we find nourishment in Word and Sacrament and motivation and conviction for finding ourselves by giving ourselves away. We realize that some of you have simply stumbled upon us, others are curious, still others are seeking but not sure for what, and some are even beginning here their investigation of Redeemer as a potential church home. Whatever the case may be, you are most welcome, regardless of your age, gender, physical ability, marital status, race, sexual orientation, economic situation, religious background or lack thereof, or any other distinction. We gather in the name of Christ who welcomes all, embraces all, forgives all, and commissions all to transformation of life not by compulsion but in response to the God who in Christ graciously loves us. Whether at 8:15 or 11 traditional, 9:45 Jazz, or 6:22 p.m. “House of the Rock” Christian Rock service, we extend to you our invitation to “Come Share Life.” As you grow in faith through worship, fellowship, and learning, we will always encourage and equip you to “Go Share Life” as well. Be redeemed; be redeeming! Share the life in Christ which is truly abundant!
–Pastor Tim Smith

Interested in Joining Redeemer?
Join us for a special “Inquirers’ Group” on Sunday mornings 9:30-10:45 a.m. at various times throughout the year. We’ll meet in the Reception Room just off the Sims Atrium. Sunday School and nursery will be available for children during that time. At this class we’ll get to know each other better, talk about our Lutheran historical and theological roots, our worship practices, our sense of mission, our spiritual gifts, and what it might mean to be a follower of Christ through the Redeemer family. If you’re not sure about becoming a member at Redeemer, we’d love for you to join us to learn a little more about yourself and about the congregation. Please note that we also have an “Associate Member” status for college students, seasonal residents, and others whose official membership remains elsewhere.
The upcoming Inquirers’ class will begin soon for those interested in learning more about Redeemer or for those wanting to become members. The group meets for five Sundays in the Reception Room from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. All are welcome. Those who then wish to join as members of the congregation will be received at the end of the class.
For more information and dates of upcoming Inquirers' Group meetings, please contact Pastor Tim Smith at ext. 201.
Our current Inquirer's Classes are Sunday January 22 - February 26, 2012 at 9:45 in the Reception Room is for inquirers of every sort. Maybe you have wondered: "What makes a Lutheran a Lutheran? "How can I help with the Refugee family?", "What do Lutherans believe about the Bible?" "What does Kyrie mean?", "Do you have to pass a test to join the congregation?", "How do you get to know people around here?". If you would like to know more about the ministry and community of Redeemer and the Inquirer's Class ask Pastor Mary Peters.
