Welcome to Redeemer!

Dear Friends:

Welcome to Redeemer! Our ministry is centered in Midtown Atlanta. Our mission is to grow disciples of Jesus Christ who, through active faith, share God’s love with the world. So, our ministry strives to meet people wherever they are in this spiritual journey we call life and equip one another with a real faith for our real lives.

We take seriously the promise of Jesus Christ that each one of us can bless our world through living our faith, sharing our gifts and welcoming others. Ours is a Spirit-led community that changes lives in Jesus’ name.

I hope you will take the time to navigate our website. As you do so, I pray that you will find in it the open door that is Redeemer. Should you visit us in Midtown, we know you will discover the love that is alive within us and through us. We invite you to “Come Share Life” at Redeemer.

Rev. Dr. Michael Foss
Senior Pastor

INTERESTED IN KNOWING MORE ABOUT REDEEMER?

INTERESTED IN MEMBERSHIP?

The New Member Class is offered for those who are curious about Redeemer and what it means to be Lutheran, and also for those who are interested in membership. For those coming from different denominations or other faith backgrounds, this class provides a supportive setting in which to learn more about Lutheranism. For those with a Lutheran background, it can be a time to ‘brush up’ on Lutheranism. You are not obligated to join by taking this class.
The session consists of seven classes held on Sunday mornings, each on a different topic. At the end of the seven-week session, if the individual has made the decision to join and feels comfortable calling Redeemer ‘home,’ he or she has the opportunity to join the church. The New Members are welcomed into the life of the congregation on the eighth Sunday during the 11:00 service.

The sessions consist of the following topics, not necessarily in this order:

§ Introduction to Lutheran Theology
§ Six Marks of Discipleship
§ Sacraments
§ Worship
§ Lutheran History
§ Redeemer Small Group Brunch
§ Redeemer Ministries
§ Welcoming Sunday - New Members are welcomed into the life of the congregation during the 11:00 service, followed by a luncheon in their honor.

The winter class in 2008 begins January 20th and is meeting on Sundays during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday learning hour in the Reception Room, just off the Atrium.

If you are interested in joining the New Member class, you may jump in at any time! Remember, there is no obligation to join Redeemer just because you take the class. We will be glad to have you participate!
