The Central Importance of Music at Redeemer
Music is woven into the very fabric of Redeemer’s identity. Starting with Martin Luther himself, and extending through the compositions of great Lutheran composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frederick Handel and Felix Mendelsohn, Lutherans have always been a musical people. We feel more connected to God when singing and performing great music. Modern Lutheran composers and other great creators of sacred music are also celebrated by performances of their music at Redeemer. Our music features a wide range of multiple choirs and instrumental groups, as well as the magnificent Letourneau pipe organ. The members of Redeemer have repeatedly ranked music as the number one reason they continue to come to our church, as expressed through formal congregational surveys.
