The image of Jesus as the shepherd.

The truth is, we can no more plan or control our mountaintop times with God than we can stay there forever, as much as we think we would like to.

Most Holy God, the sin of racism hurts communities of color, fractures human relationships, and denies your good creation. 

But there is something else to the wisdom of Ecclesiastes.  Take a look at the lilies of the field or the intricate spiderweb on the back porch it suggests. 

Rather than a "balanced" life, it might be more helpful to try and nurture a "centered" life.
