Worship at Redeemer

Worship Services

When we gather in worship…regardless of the service’s musical style: organ and choir, jazz trio or rock band…we encounter God in a way that we cannot by ourselves. We gather in response to the Holy Spirit’s invitation. We hear God’s word for us: read, preached and sung. We are fed and nourished as we share bread and wine in Holy Communion. We are sent in mission to the world. We celebrate those things which bind us together: prayers for our common needs, song that lifts our spirits and a relationship with each other that is grounded in God’s great love for us.

Worship with us on Sundays!

8:15 am and 11 am Traditional liturgical services

9:45 am Informal Jazz Service

5:00 pm House of the Rock Worship

Worship is at the very core of our identity at Redeemer.  Though largely known for our traditional Lutheran liturgies and music at 8:15 and 11am on Sunday mornings, other styles of worship bring the same emphasis on Word and Sacrament.  The 9:45 Sunday morning Service (Jazz) is a lively and less formal opportunity, as is the 5:00 p.m. House of the Rock (rock) liturgy.  Communion and God’s word read and proclaimed are the weekly staples of our worship life.  Though we are surely fed through our worship, we remember that worship is not finally about us but about the God revealed to us in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, to whom we offer thanks and praise.

 House of the Rock

House of the Rock, Pastor Matt Simpkins

Pastor Matt Simpkins serves the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer part-time as the Pastor for Campus Ministry and Midtown Mission Development.  Campus Ministry details can be found here.  Pastor Matt’s main objective was to fill a need of developing a ministry to the Midtown community that was service driven, built on grace-filled Lutheran theology, liturgical, up-to-date in language and music, and was based in Word and Sacrament.  House of the Rock was developed in 2011 with volunteers and staff funded by Redeemer and a grant from the ELCA.

Since opening it’s doors, many congregations, from Atlanta to Spain, have sent inquirers to take back ideas and grow similar missions in their own context.  House of the Rock won an award from the ELCA’s Living Lutheran video competition, and will be spotlighted at the Lutheran church’s synod gatherings in the summer of 2012.

Come share life then Give yourself away as we gather around service and response to the gospel.  House of the Rock meets at 731 Peachtree St on Sunday nights at 5:00pm.

German Church Atlanta

The German Church Atlanta meets for a German-language Lutheran worship service each Sunday at 11 am in Redeemer’s Chapel on the second floor. The German Church Atlanta is partially supported by Redeemer.
