2.     Information about the Search Process

a.       Congregational council met in a special session to lay the ground work for the search process for a Senior Pastor.

b.      In accord with the constitution there will be 6 voting members to the search team. 

                                                              i.      This team will have the opportunity to form separate groups to help them in this process.

                                                      ii.      Representatives from the Congregational Council will serve as support to help with communication to the Congregational Council

3.       Names for the Search Team will come from the congregation and council. 

a.       The Congregational Council will work to have a diverse representation on this team

b.      Job characteristics concerning the expectations for the Search Team will be well published from the Web site to hard copies in the church office.

c.       We ask for your help in identifying possible people to serve on the Search Team.

d.      Please look at the qualities that make up the search team, job description, and then write a paragraph as to how you feel the person whose name you are submitting would help in serving on this special team, what gifts they would bring.

4.       There will be a box in the atrium for the collection of names. Or you can send them to the office at church or to searchcommittee@redeemer.org.

5.       Please be patient: Your congregational council has a tough job ahead of them. Please pray for them in the coming weeks. They will have to reduce the number of suggestions for the Search Team down to 6. That is a tough job but have faith the Holy Spirit will lead us through this process.

6.       The Council hopes to include as many people as possible in this process. 

a.       When the Search Team needs to form a special team: Like Hospitality

b.      They will contact people who are interested to help.

7.     Second: Communication. 

a.       We are excited to be on our way in this important process. We know that there will be lots of questions.

b.      There will be a member of the Congregational Council at the Listen Post every Sunday. It is located in the Reception Room. You can come in and have a cup of coffee and ask questions.

c.       All the questions asked will be put on the Web site and hard copies will be available each week in the atrium. 

d.      They are working hard to keep you informed as we all move through this process.

8.       Third: During this search process please remain faithful in your worship, participation and giving.

a.       The giving has is about the same as last year.

b.      That is good but we are still running short of the budget yet we will have an operating deficit from earlier slower giving.

c.       We will continue to study and make changes on the expense side.

d.      You have control of the giving side. Please keep faithful in giving.

9.      Finally you can continue to help keep the Redeemer Body strong.

a.       If you know of anyone who has stopped worshipping please let the pastors or the church office know.

b.      We are concerned and are looking for more ways to communicate and heal.

10.   Also be patient with the calling process.

a.       The council is half way through and is continuing. 

b.      They want your input and appreciate your willingness to share.
