Podcasting on redeemer.org

Now, your favorite sermons are delivered weekly to your computer. It's free, and anyone can use it. Here's how to do it in a few, easy steps.

Each week’s sermons are recorded and converted to MP3s (a type of digital format) that can be played on your computer. Until now, the only method of listening to those sermons was by streaming them from redeemer.org or by purchasing a tape or CD. Podcast sermons are not only free, but will automate the process for you as well.

You don't have to own an iPod to enjoy a podcast. All you have to do is subscribe, and every week, the latest sermon will be delivered to your computer or media player/tablet.

How to get started
(Currently podcast subscriptions may only be accessed using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.)

We recommend using Apple's iTunes program, which is available for both Windows and Mac. iTunes is available free by downloading it from www.itunes.com. There are versions for both Windows and Mac computers.

Step 1: Download iTunes and install it on your computer.

Step 2: Open iTunes. When you install it on a Windows PC it creates a new icon on your desktop, but if you can't find it click your Start button > All Programs > iTunes. It should be there.

Step 3: Open the Advanced dropdown menu on top.

Step 4: Click "Subscribe to Podcast…" and a small window will open.

Step 5: Copy and paste the following address:

http://images.acswebnetworks.com/1/69/podcast.xml

You should now see your selection in the Podcasts section of iTunes with the available sermons underneath. When a new sermon is released, iTunes can download it automatically.

Bach

6:30 Dinner  (tickets are no longer being sold for the dinner)

8:00 Concert (free)

Please join us in celebrating the life and music of Johann Sebastian Bach, the greatest composer of our Lutheran heritage.

This year's featured performers are Brenda Bondeson, piano and violin; Sarah Hawbecker, organ; the Redeemer Singers, one of our children's choirs; and Canticum Novum, Redeemer's auditioned chamber chorus, directed by David Hansen. Featured works for this year's concert are selections from "Mass in B Minor," and some well-known arrangements, including Bach's arrangement for organ of Vivaldi's "Concerto in A Minor for Two Violins," and the Bach/Gounod setting of "Ave Maria."

The 8:00 concert is free, and tickets are not required.

Please contact Sarah Hawbecker for more information.
