Member Care at Redeemer
“Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”-I Corinthians 12:27
In times of crisis, change, joy and sorrow the sharing and bearing of burdens is facilitated through the ministries of Member Care. The following ministry teams of Member Care make it possible for members care for one another in a variety of ways.
Redeemer Care
Through the work of area coordinators everyone is a part of Redeemer Care. When a family welcomes a new baby, suffers an extended illness or loses as loved one to death Redeemer Care enlists those living near-by to provide a meal. Communication of need and informing the church of an expected birth ensure this support. Contact the church office if you or someone you know needs Redeemer Care.
Prayer Ministry
Each week a team of faithful friends pray for concerns and joys requested during worship or received during the week. If you have a prayer request or would like to be on the Prayer Team receiving by e-mail a list of prayer concerns contact Karen Medford at 404.864.8664 x 238. For personal prayer, a Labyrinth is set up for prayer and meditation. Check the church calendar for available times.
Stephen Ministry
Some life issues such as divorce, grief, long-term caregiving, chronic disease, or life transition- just to name a few- need the attention and on-going support of a trained spiritual friend. A Stephen Minister assigned to you by a pastor will walk with you, listen and pray with you for a period of several weeks. Together you will seek to discern God’s loving and strengthening presence with you. Stephen Ministers hold all conversations in strictest confidence, as is your participation as a care receiver. Contact Pastor Mary at 404.864.8664 x 224.
Grief Ministry
Grief supports groups are held periodically throughout the year. Printed resources for grief and bereavement are provided to members who have lost a family member and for anyone who has a need. Contact Pastor Mary 404.864.8664 x 224 to discuss your grief issues.
Homebound Visitation
The community of the congregation is shared through the regular visits and calls of special homebound visitors with those who are unable to attend church. A separate group of Eucharistic Visitors have been trained to bring the sacrament of Holy Communion to the homebound.
