Faith Stepping Stones

Baptism is a beginning. It’s a commitment to a life of faith spent learning who God has created us to be and how to live with our sisters and brothers as God’s children. The Faith Stepping Stone ministry helps parents fulfill the promises they made to nurture faith in their children, helps kids joyfully discover their identities as children of God, and helps all adults grow in understanding of their baptismal vocation.

Children’s Classes

During the Sunday School year, each grade level (starting with age 2) makes a deep dive on a topic named in the baptismal promises. Some have an intergenerational format, in which parents participate alongside their children. Some are accompanied by an adult class that approaches the same topic from a more sophisticated perspective, giving parents and any adults who wish to participate a chance to delve into their own foundations of faith. Growing in your own faith is the most powerful way to nurture faith in your kids!

Each class includes a special blessing in worship which acknowledges the growth and learning that have taken place and engages the whole congregation in supporting the faith of the participants.
